May Fun Day and Jubilee Gala · 4 days ago

Lots of stalls with a funfair theme and the bunting will be out for the Jubilee celebrations.

Groups from the community will be joining us this year to give the event more of a GALA feel.

We are also hosting an inter-school 5-as side football gala, sponsored by Aberdeen Trailers. This will run from 10-1, followed by medal presentation by First Minister Alex Salmond and Bill Maizek from Aberdeen Trailers.

We hope to see you all on the day

Fyvie School are also taking part in the Rothienorman Football Gala on 21st May – Go Fyvie!

Your School Needs You! · 4 days ago

After our AGM evening last week, due to most of the parent council members having been on the committee for 2 years – we really need to add to our parent council team of class reps and office bearers (office bearers needed being Chairperson and Secretary)
The Parent Council plays an important role in the connection between the local community, the school, teachers, parents and our children.

We’ve done all sorts of things over the last year from donating money towards educational resources, trips and treats to organising popular events like the fun run, Christmas fayre and forthcoming May fun day! Parent Councils also help represent the views of parents and enable them to contribute to school decision making.

Our meetings are held around 6 times per year and usually in the evenings, although this can be flexible if it makes coming along more convenient to everyone. The meetings enable the committee members, parents and teachers to meet, share ideas and feed back to the school.

By becoming a class rep, chairperson or secretary, you’ll play an important part of helping to ensure that our children continue to enjoy the benefits of the ‘little extras’ that help make Fyvie a really great school. Were also always on the lookout for fresh new ideas! Your participation is vital to the success of the link between the staff and parents this coming year, so mums, dads, grandparents, carers… we really do need YOU!

Even if you feel you would be unable to commit to every meeting but, you could help just a little bit, or if you just want to chat about what any of the roles involve – it all makes a difference – please do get in touch via… the slip on this letter, email either the school or
fyvieparentcouncil@gmail.com, speak to your child’s current class rep, pop in to the school office or find us on Facebook ‘Fyvie School Parent Council’

We look forward to hearing from you soon.

Mel – Chairperson
